On Sunday, July 21st, (National Ice Cream Day), more than 70 neighbors and their families enjoyed the annual Ice Cream Social held on Potters Mill Court. They consumed a variety of delicious Tillamook ice cream flavors and toppings, as well as fruit popsicles.
As one of the eight free community events hosted each year by Mill Creek Village, our local, volunteer-led, nonprofit community services organization, the Ice Cream Social provides residents a chance to meet and mingle with their neighbors, make new acquaintances, and savor a delightful cool treat on a warm afternoon.
Special thanks to Anna McBain and Jen Black for leading the event as members of the Village’s Social Committee. An additional activity held for youngsters, organized and supervised by Katie Becker, was a session of colorful driveway chalk drawing, in which kids were encouraged to draw pictures and write upbeat messages on driveways around the court.
The next Village event will be the annual Community Picnic, scheduled to be held at Caddy Court on Sunday, September 8th, beginning at 4:00pm.
Mill Creek Village is an all-volunteer, no-fee organization. It is funded by donations from our neighbors, business sponsorships, and small grants. The Village is dedicated to: (1) assisting senior residents of Mill Creek Towne to age gracefully and safely in their homes and (2) promoting intergenerational social connection and positive community spirit.
