On June 10, Mill Creek Village, the nonprofit, community services organization serving Mill Creek Towne, erected the first book swapping library in our community. The structure is located near the sidewalk on Park Mill Drive between Miller Fall Road and Park Mill Court.

A Little Free Library is a “take a book, share a book” free book exchange. These libraries come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Ours is blue! Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Little Free Library book exchanges have a unique, personal touch and promote community connection.

There are more than 150,000 registered Little Free Library book-sharing boxes in 120 countries worldwide. There are several in Montgomery County. The new structure in Mill Creek Towne is an official registered Little Free Library, approved by the County’s Department of Permitting Services.

Our library already contains many good books shared by neighbors for the reading enjoyment of both adults and children. The Village Board of Directors invites our neighbors to enjoy and support the Library. Please treat it with care and report any problems/concerns to the Village at (240) 686-5870 or mctvillage@gmail.com
